Bloody Day Armed Robbers Kill 15 people in Ondo

15 persons including policemen were killed as armed robbers simultaneously attacked a police station and a bank in on do state
Armed robbers on Tuesday, January 13 killed about 15 persons in Ondo State during an attack on a police station and a bank.

The armed robbers simultaneously attacked a police station and the First Bank in Ikare-Akoko in Akoko Northeast Local Government Area of Ondo State. Policemen were killed during the attack on their station while a former chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state, is also feared dead at the scene of the bank robbery.

Guardian newspaper sources say that most of the victims of the attack were killed while trying to cash money from the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in front of the bank. Another set of people were also killed inside the bank hall.

According to Guardian, a resident of the town said the armed robbers, who were dressed in mobile police uniform, came to the scene with two military vehicles around 3pm, ransacked the bank and made away with cash.

It was revealed that the robbers made their escape through Edo Road after snatching a vehicle and killing the driver.
