The seven aggrieved governors of the Peoples Democratic Party who formed the new PDP are meeting again in Abuja on Sunday night to take a position on their strategic move to dump President Goodluck Jonathan and join the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the battle for 2015 enters its crucial stages.
TON gathered that the meeting will be attended by all the G-7 governors and some APC men are in town already to keep a tab on the development from the very important meeting.
Majority of the G-7 governors believe that it is too late for them to form a new party. “So, we said it would be better to stay with the APC instead of forming a new party now. It is too late.” a source confirmed.
Governors expected at the meeting are Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Aliyu Babangida (Niger), Abdulfatai Ahmed (Kwara) Murtala Nyako (Adamawa) and Rabiu Kwankwanso (Kano).
Top Senators, House of Reps members and senior members of the new PDP will also be in attendance.
