Bayelsa elections: gov Dickson receives certificate of return

The governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Seriake Dickson, was yesterday presented with the Certificate of Return as governor-elect for second term by the independent national Electoral Commission(INEC).
The certificate of return was presented by the Supervising National Commissioner, South-South, Mr. MustaphaLegih at an event witnessed by the wife of the governor, Dr. Rachel Dickson, his deputy, Rear Admiral John Jonah (rtd.), acting state chairman of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Chief Serena Dokubo-Spiff, top officials of government, Resident Electoral Commissioner, Baritor Kpagih, among others.
Governor Seriake Dickson,upon receipt of the certificate of return sang three short songs of praise and commended INEC, security operatives and all stakeholders for seeing to the success of the elections in the state.
Governor Dickson told the crowd of supporters and party leaders that his victory at the just concluded election did not come easy.
Dickson said, “I am delighted to be elected your governor once again. We give God the  glory for the victory. If God was not with us, you can imagine what would have happened.We dedicate this certificate of return to God.This is once again another evidence that power only comes from God.
“Some people trusted in their chariots and horses, but we trust in God. after God, this victory is dedicated to the good people of Bayelsa, who defied intimidation, harassment and violence that was unleashed on them to return us.”
