Special task force (STF) arrest six suspects over attack on PDP buses

Nigeria’s Special Task Force (STF) on Jos crisis arrested the suspects accused of setting ablaze Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign buses in a Saturday incident.

PDP’s campaign bus, attacked January 10.

According to Premium Times, it was made known by the STF spokesman, Ikedichi Iweha, yesterday. While the official did not specify how many people had been arrested in connection with the violence, a witness disclosed that 6 had been detained adding that some of them might not have been involved. It would be recalled that in his reaction the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), condemned the attack saying he did not approve of the support from those who resort to terror. Despite the fact that politicians of the two major parties on numerous occasions have called for peace during the elections, the violence seems to be escalating. Only this weekend the unwelcome happenings took place in Plateau, Rivers and Gombe states.
