Governorof Niger state, Babangida Aliyu claimed he preventedtheterrorist sect,Boko Haram from having an operating base in the stateby sacking the Darul Salam sectfrom theirMokwa base in 2010.
In a statementmadethroughhis chief press secretary, Israel Ebije, he was proactive in sacking Darul Salam sectwhere some key leadersof the dreaded secthad once camped.
Speaking at the 22nd graduation ceremonyof the Adesoye College, Offa, Kwara State, Gov. Aliyu emphasized on the need for other state governorsto takesecurity issuesseriously.

He insistedthat once thesectmembers comprising Nigerians from different statesand aliens were dislodged from Niger, it was the duty of theirrespectivestates(Nigerian sect members) to put them on securitywatch.
“We were proactive in managing Boko Haram insurgents from having a base in Niger State. Imagine having Boko Haram in the middle of Nigeria? A governor must atall times seek ways of protectingthe lives and property of peoplein his state”
“Securitychallenges thereforedo not happen just like that, it takes the indulgence of some elitewho are desperatetogain political advantage. It is the thugsthey engagethat are causing the nation serioussecuritychallenge,” hesaid.
While calling on Nigerian leaders toimbibe the cultureof practising true democracy, devoid of thuggery, he urgedschoolsto build future Nigerians with moral chastityand how to be goal-oriented.
He charged schoolson the need to focus more on instilling moral ethos on young Nigerians towards engenderingsecuritypreparedness and inspiring good leadership
