Chelsea have reportedly held talks with Sergio Ramos over a move to Stamford Bridge with the Spanish defender believed to have rejected a new contract at Real Madrid, UK’s Metro reports via The Express.
Ramos’ current Madrid deal expires in 2017, and the Champions League winners had offered him a two-year extension this week, which has apparently been turned down.
And now the Daily Express says Chelsea have decided to move in, with Jose Mourinho kick-starting the Blues’ talks to sign him.
Mourinho worked with Ramos at Madrid and Chelsea have been on the lookout for another experienced defender.
The 28-year-old would likely cost about £20million to sign in January.
