Zuriel
Oduwole shot to fame after interviewing African presidents and business
leaders, later compiling interviews in a short documentary. At the age
of 10, Oduwole was the youngest media correspondent to gain access to a
world press conference, in addition, the youngest to interview Aliko
Dangote, the richest person in the world.
Covering serious financial and political topics with credible knowledge and curiosity, Ethiopia Airlines has announced that they will support Oduwole’s business and media endeavors by offering her support via air travel across three continents, an Ethiopia Airlines press release said.
“The first 10-year-old featured in Forbes magazine, and the first African child appointed an honorary Ambassador by a foreign Government, Ethiopian Airlines has now formally appointed her as its Global Ambassador, even though she is not Ethiopian,” The release said.
Oduwole, who is American-Nigerian advocates for fair education opportunities for girls and children, and has long-term plans of retiring at 19-years-old. Oduwole also aspires to become the president of the United States.
“In a simple event in the United States, Ethiopian Airlines Regional Director for the Americas Kagnew Asfaw, who proudly signed the MOU on behalf of the global African Airline highlighted her astonishing achievements,” the release stated.
“As part of the agreement, the airline would be Zuriel’s official carrier to her many engagements and projects across three continents, including Africa, and South America, where she is continuously meeting with world leaders and making the case for the Girl Child education.”
Ethiopia Airlines is deemed Africa’s most advanced and profitable — the only African Airline to fly the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, the release noted. Also appointed an ambassador of Tanzania by First Lady Salma Kikwete, Oduwole promotes a positive African perspective through her Dream Up, Speak Up, Stand Up campaign.
