Why Abia Governor Disgraced,Sacked Press Secretary Emezue

sacked Emezue
Fresh information has emerged on why the Abia State Governor Theodore Orji sacked his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ugochukwu Emezue, in an embarrassing and humiliating manner barely a week ago.
The City Reporters learnt the Governor was forced to opt for the disgraceful method to make an inglorious impression that any associate that didn’t cover his parameter well will face similar fate.
The City Reporters gathered Mr. Emezue, who is today an unhappy man, was sacked on October 22, 2013 in a very humiliating way having failed in his effort to tactically protect the clandestine activities of the governor, laundering the governor’s ego and covering up for the ineptitude of the T. A Orji’s administration. Attempts by Emezue to bury some damning reports about the failing facilities in the state landed him in trouble and exposed his poor knowledge of media relations and engagement.
Governor Orji, whose popularity in the state is equally dwindling temporarily ignored Mr. Emezue’s ‘professional gimmick’ and employed ruse to register his discontentment before ultimately terminating his appointment as CPS to the governor.
The City Reports learnt the governor, on October 22 pulled a call to Emezue and asked him to be part of his entourage to Lagos via Port-Harcourt Airport. Excited Emezue appeared at the government house 20 minutes before “his excellency” stepped out.
The Governor told his associate that his mission in Lagos was to embark on a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land, Israel with President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. No sooner had the governor’s convoy left the Government House with Mr. Emezue cruising in his Kia SUV official car with number plate ABGH 26 that the announcement of his sack and immediate replacement with Mr. Charles Ajunwa through a Press release endorsed by the Chief of  Staff to the Governor, Mr. Cosmos Ndukwe came to bare. Emezue was caught off-guard!
At first, Emezue ignored calls and text messages of the news of his dismissal thinking it was a rumor. However, the call that really convinced him was the one from his younger brother. Later at the Port-Harcourt airport, the Governor informed him about his sack through a text message. Devastated, Emezue didn’t know whether to continue the trip or return to the base with the convoy.
The sober Emezue could not hold himself as the shock was much on him. His eyes were heavy as he tried to fight back tears.
According to some of his colleagues, Orji took the decision when it became obvious to him that Emezue had exhausted all his media connections, tactics and tricks in stopping ‘bad’ reports.
Meanwhile, there have been many rumours making round the town as to what could have prompted his sudden sack. Some strongly believe that his problems must have emanated from his many lies, one of which was against Mr. Don Norman following an investigative piece published on Sahara Reporters. The stories revealed the failing state of governance in the God’s own state.
The governor believed Emezue failed in stopping stories he was trying effortlessly to hide. Since the emergence of the story on Sahara reporters, over 17,000 people have read the piece on the platform. Scores of other website also feat on the story and the consequence was that tens of thousands of Abians in Nigeria and in diaspora mocked the governor for fooling Abians and tongue lashed Emezue for attempting to distort facts in public domain.
Even The City Reporters have published several series on the governor and his wasteful style of administration and the deterioration in the state. The many lies of the governor have no respect or boundaries. Even during his Democracy day Speech, Orji lied to Abians and Nigerians on road network rehabilitation, excessive tax systems among others.
Some associates close to the governor confided in The City Reporters that T. A Orji suspected that Emezue’s multiple capital-intensive investments both in Abia State and in Lagos could have angered his boss who is allergic to such ‘competition’ possibly because of his own insatiable appetite for property acquisitions.
As at last week, Mr. Emezue was putting finishing touches to his Millennium detach Mansion at Lekki. He has another state-of-the art duplex at his home town in Eziama Ossah, Abia State and an event management company and a livestock feed manufacturing company amongst others.
Another source confided in The City Reporters that the government was embarrassed with a revelation that filtered into the Umuiaha that Emezue has commenced plans to register his FM radio station, purportedly to give wings to his political ambition.
A close source to the governor’s family confirmed to us that Emezue’s sack might not be far from the fact that he connived with one of the too many organizations that gave awards to the governor. Problem said to have broken up between Emezue and the officials when he (Emezue) tried to manipulate the agreed sharing formula and the people made good their threat to inform the governor about it through his Son, Engr. Chinedum Orji.
Back home, it is believed by many, especially, one of the traditional rulers in Emezue’s community that his role in the balkanization and defilement of their ancestral heritage through proliferation of autonomous communities were the reasons Emezue fell out of favour with Orji as the Monarch believes strongly that their ancestors have visited him.
Barely 24 hours after the announcement of his sack was made public, his official car and other government property in his custody were all retrieved, including the driver attached to him
