University of Benin 300 level chemistry student axed to death

unidentified assailants have killed a 300-level student of the Department of Chemistry in the Faculty of Physical Sciences of the University of Benin, UNIBEN. The victim was identified as Gbenedio Ejiroghene. Ejiroghene was said to have been axed to death the NewsNigeria reports. The gruesome murder took place in the Ugbowo Campus of the institution on Friday at about 7 pm, when he was hit on the head.

The University’s spokesman, Barrister Harris Osarenren who confirmed the murder of the student, said the killing has been reported at the Ugbowo Police Station and that the body has been deposited at the mortuary of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH.

He said investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances about the killing.
