Football: aguero set to miss roma game due to injury

Sergio Aguero is almostcertainly out of ManchesterCity’s crucial Champions League matchwith Roma afterinjuring kneeligaments against Everton.
The Argentine, 26, was injured in a challenge with MuhamedBesic in the third minute of Saturday’s match and left the pitch in tears.
City must win Wednesday’s gamein Rometo have any chance of reaching the last 16 and Aguero’s absence is a big blow.
“Probably he’ll miss the game. It is a big problem,” Manuel Pellegrini said.
“It is very difficult when you have trouble with your ligament to recoverin three days.”
Aguero, the PremierLeague’s top scorerwith 14 goals, is setto learn the extentof the damage on Sunday, with manager Pellegrini refusing tospeculate on how long he may face on thesidelines beforethen.
Aguero limped out of thematch, which City won 1-0, and was replaced by teenagerJose Pozo, reports the BBC.
Pellegrini, who was already without Yaya Tourefor theRoma game due tosuspension, revealedAguero was “more calm” in the dressingroom afterwards.

“Anythingserious would be a massive blow to him, Manchester City, and football lovers everywhere.”
Aguero has earned widespread acclaim for his performancesthis season, with Pellegrini hailing thestriker as “one of the bestplayers in theworld”.
His highlights this season include scoring all fourin a 4-1 rout of Tottenhamon 18 October and a hat-trick in the3-2 Champions League win over Bayern Munich on November25.
