Boko Haram Has Been Decimated - Air Force Boss

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has said that they have decimated terrorist group Boko haram despite some critics saying otherwise. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Adesola Amosun during the weekend, told this to the graduation ceremony of course 2/2014 of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, organised by the Commandant, Air Vice Marshal Monday Morgan.
He later said in an interview with Thisday, that security men in the North-east region has totally damaged the insurgency in the region.

He said that the army’s mission has been aided by the combined efforts of the personnel of NAF.

Amosun said that the military work was improved by the weakening the capabilities of the insurgents and destroying their supply lines. Adding that NAF has been providing the army with strategic and tactical airlift to enable them combat insurgency .

CAS said: “Unlike the situation in Mali where the forces fighting insurgents in that area were unable to get strategic airlift, we have been able to support the operations of the military through the airlifting of troops and ability to drop supplies where needed.

“Despite the pressure from the civil populace for the quick resolution of the crisis, the officers and men of the armed forces are not relenting in their effort to flush out the insurgents within the region.”

The Nigerian military has been involved in an all out war against the Boko Haram sect since 2009, The sect are responsible for the murder of thousands of Nigerians.
