APC meeting to choose Buhari’s running mate ends in deadlock

A meeting by the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to choose the running mate of its presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, ended in a deadlock as no decision was reached on Monday night.

Leaders of the party gathered at the Rivers Governor’s Lodge in Abuja to attend the meeting on the choice of the running mate reportedly zoned to the South-West.

Asiwaju Tinubu is believed to be pushing for Osibajo who left a Lagos State service 7 years ago as Attorney General.

Originally, the party’s long list included the likes of Governor Rotimi Amaechi, Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Governor Babatunde Fashola, former governor Kayode Fayemi, Governor Rochas Okorocha, Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora and Professor Yemi Osibanjo.
