A total of 145,641 families were affected by the typhoon, NDRRMC said.
Weather Watch, the Philippine Information Agency's Facebook page for
weather-related news, said that based on information from PIA Region 6, one of the casualties from the typhoon is 56-year-old Randy Cejar from Calinog town.
The information was reportedly confirmed by Mayor Alex Centina over a local radio station.
In
Surigao del Norte, meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Risk and
Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) reported that a total of 8,821
families or 28,807 individuals are now housed in different evacuation
centers in the province. No casualties have been recorded as of 3 p.m.
Captain Albert Caber, spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Philippines
Eastern Mindanao Command (EMC) said Siargao Island is currently
experiencing a total power outage and five houses in the province have
been totally damaged. Roads and bridges from the town of Alegria to
Surigao City, however, remain passable.
