In
a very horrific incident, a soldier stationed overseas watched in
horror as his pregnant wife was stabbed in her home while the two
chatted on video.
31-year-old
Rachel Poole was 9 months pregnant at the time she was stabbed by a man
hiding in her home on Wednesday. The suspect, named as Corey Bernard
Moss, reportedly tabbed Poole from behind with a stainless steel knife.
During
the attack, her husband, Justin Pele Poole, an American soldier
stationed thousands of miles away in Asia, saw the attack unfold as the
two talked over FaceTime.
It
has been revealed that Poole was in critical condition in the hospital
when her baby, Isabella, was born. Doctors performed a successful
cesarean section. The baby is listed in good condition.
It was also reported that the woman recognized her attacker and repeatedly screamed his name to her husband.
The 19-year-old suspect allegedly told investigators that the victim owed him money for vehicle repairs.
On
Facebook Saturday, the victim's husband, Justin Poole showed pictures
of his newborn daughter and recovering wife. On one photo of his wife,
he wrote: "My wife fought back so that her daughter could live. But she
can not see out of her eye still at all. And can't see or hold her baby
until she recovers."
