The
Deputy Governor of Akwa-Ibom state, Valerie Ebe is bereaved. She lost
her lovely mother, Madam Patricia Paul Bassey Okon on early hours of
Wednesday October 30, 2013. Ebe announced the death of her mum on her
Facebook page on Wednesday morning.
The
deputy governor also disclosed that her 101 years old mother would be
laid to rest on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at her country home in Mbak
Akpan Ekpenyong Etoi clan of Uyo local council area of Akwa Ibom State.
“It
is with the deepest sense of loss but in total submission to the will
of the Almighty God that I write to notify you of the eternal home call
of my dear mother and pillar of my strength, late Madam Patricia Paul
Bassey Okon, who transited to eternity at the age of 101 years,” Ebe
wrote.
On
Friday, November 8, 2013, a vigil Mass will be held in her honour at St
Dominic Catholic Church, Mbak Ikot Ebo, Uyo, by 7pm, while a
lying-in-state ceremony would hold on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the
family compound, Mbak Akpan Ekpenyong (Ikot Odiongo), Etoi Clan, Uyo,
from 6am to 9am.
Funeral
mass would later hold at St Dominic Primary School grounds, Mbak Ikot
Abasi, Uyo, from 10am, to be conducted by St Dominic Catholic Church,
Mbak Ikot Ebo Parish, while a thanksgiving mass will then hold on
Sunday, November 10, 2013 the same church by 10am
